Emily J. Snyder is the queen behind the quill. Emily has been painting and drawing her entire life. Because of her dexterous affinity with drawing tools, the transition from creating fine art to doing calligraphy was natural. Emily studied at the Society of Scribes in New York City before she launched Killer Quills Calligraphy in New York in August 2008. She relocated to Minneapolis in July 2009 to relaunch the business with a new name, Queen Quills Calligraphy.  Emily also creates sculptural mixed media jewelry from detritus and stray jewels, under the name Piles of Jewels. She holds a BFA from The Museum School of Fine Arts Boston/Tufts University.  She is also a fashion enthusiast and considers getting dressed everyday an opportunity to create a bold sculpture to carry out into the world on her body.
